Nancy McEwen
Painter (Oil, Acrylic, Gouache, Watercolor)
Nancy McEwen is a fifth-generation Oregonian whose art is deeply rooted in the landscapes and seascapes of the Pacific Northwest. Growing up near Beaver Creek, where her grandparents owned a dairy farm, she developed a lifelong love for nature, light, and the ever-changing beauty of the Oregon Coast. From an early age, she found joy in capturing the world around her, first by drawing on the walls of her family home and later through painting.
Working primarily in oil, acrylic, gouache, and watercolor, Nancy brings a dynamic and expressive quality to her work. She is best known for her paintings of the ocean, where she strives to capture the movement, energy, and mood of the waves. Living in Lincoln City for over two decades, she has been continually inspired by the coastline’s shifting light and natural rhythms. She finds endless fascination in the way the ocean reflects and refracts colors, constantly changing with the time of day and the seasons.
For Nancy, painting is more than a technical pursuit—it is a spiritual experience. She sees her work as a way to reflect the beauty of creation and the wonder of the natural world. “I often feel there is no end to the colors and challenges the ocean brings,” she says. “My goal is to paint until the good Lord calls me home. Until then, I will try to paint a glimmer of His creation.” Through her art, Nancy invites others to see and feel the breathtaking majesty of the Oregon Coast.
“I love painting from God’s creation because it is so amazing!”
